Intelligence Verdict
Artificial or Super?
What the makers claim, set against what was actually measured: tests, trials with real people, regulators and court records, in plain English.
The question it answers
What can AI actually do today?
What AI can actually do today: makers' claims set against independent tests, studies with real people, regulators, court records and predictions, checked every morning and explained in plain English.
AI is talked about more than it is tested. Intelligence Verdict gathers both, labels which is which, and lets you see the gap.
It never gives its own verdict on whether an AI product is good. Stages are computed from the evidence by published rules, and nobody can pay to change one. AI helps find and summarize material, and it is never allowed to set a stage, a count or a quote.
Who it's for. Written for curious people who use AI, or hear about it constantly, and want to know what it means for their work and life.
The evidence ladder
Never the judge.
It says how far the evidence has got, not how good the AI is. A track record of documented failures and incidents sits beside each stage, never folded into it.
- Stage 6Widely used with a verified recordTested with real people or cleared by a regulator, used by at least 10% of US adults according to a published survey, with at least three independent studies in people.
- Stage 5Regulator-clearedA regulator has cleared or approved it for the task, where approval applies. Tasks no regulator covers are marked “No approval process exists”.
- Stage 4Tested with real peopleA randomized trial or field study has tested it with real people doing the task.
- Stage 3Independently testedSomeone other than the maker has tested it: an independent benchmark, a peer-reviewed paper, or a hands-on test by a trusted outlet.
- Stage 2LaunchedA product that does the task is available to the public, linked and dated.
- Stage 1ClaimedA company says, in a passage checked word for word, that its AI can do the task.
